About The Firm
A small firm, built around one CPA Ontario member, a specialized remote delivery team, and a clear standard for how the work is done.
Hi, I'm Hasan — a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (Ontario) with extensive experience in audit, tax, technical accounting and growth-stage corporate finances. I spent a significant portion of my career inside a Canadian B2B SaaS company managing financial closes, audit preparations, and technical accounting work.
Today, I operate an accounting firm out of Ottawa with a specialized remote delivery team, serving clients across Ontario

Where I came from
I started in Canadian public practice — at BDO Canada doing audits, compilations, and corporate tax. Public practice is the boot camp of accounting: you learn the standards, you learn how files are inspected, you learn what good documentation actually looks like. You also learn what 'reviewed by a CPA' is supposed to mean — because in public practice, that signature is your license on the line.
After that I moved client-side, joining BenchSci as an in-house accountant. BenchSci is a Canadian B2B SaaS, multi-entity (Canada, US, UK), with the kind of revenue complexity that makes ASPE 3400 / IFRS 15 a daily topic and the kind of investor base that makes monthly close discipline non-negotiable. Three years there taught me how a serious finance function operates when the stakes are real.
Why I started the firm
Two patterns I believe are the main pain points with founders.
The first: outgrowing your current accountant is its own painful stage. Bookkeepers and small CPA firms do excellent work for early-stage companies — but at some point you need someone who can write a revenue recognition memo, structure a multi-entity consolidation, and present numbers to a board. That gap is where most founders get stuck.
The second: the offshore alternatives are a real cost-saver, but they come with tradeoffs most founders learn the hard way — inconsistent quality, unclear review, and no one with skin in the game when something goes wrong. The principal of an offshore shop isn't a CPA. The reviewer is a manager. The work product is fine until it isn't.

What I won't do
I'm not for every business. I don't take audit, review or compilation engagements. We are a non-assurance firm. I don't take on more clients than I can personally review every month — once we're full, we're full.
If you're looking for the cheapest possible bookkeeping with no review chain, we're probably not your firm. If you're looking for the credibility of a CPA Ontario member with the cost structure of a small firm, we might be.

What I'm trying to build
The accounting industry has two problems that compound each other. The first: the cost of credentialed advice has gone up faster than most small businesses can afford. A real fractional CFO in Toronto charges what most early-stage founders can't budget for. The second: the cheap alternative — generic offshore bookkeeping — has gotten so commoditized that 'reviewed by a CPA' often means 'a CPA's name appears on the engagement letter.'
The result is that thousands of growing businesses sit in a gap. They've outgrown DIY. They can't afford a $300/hour controller. And they don't trust the offshore shops because the work isn't actually reviewed by someone whose license is on the line.
This firm exists for that gap. The model is simple: I do the work that needs a CPA's eye. The remote team does the work that needs senior-accountant capability but doesn't strictly require a CPA stamp. Together, we deliver something close to what a domestic mid-size firm would deliver, at a price closer to what an offshore shop would charge. And every file has a CPA Ontario member's signature on it.
The team behind the work
The delivery team is based remotely — a small group of ACCA finalists and Pakistani Chartered Accountants trained on Western accounting standards. They handle the bookkeeping, reconciliations, transactional work, and first-draft management accounts. I handle the review, the technical accounting decisions, the client conversations, and the filesign-off.
